Tatvan’da yaptığımız bir diğer proje de GEN-17 kodlu, çevre düzenleme kampıydı. Nurdan Karadaş’ın liderliğinde Tatvan’a giden 12 gönüllü (7 Kadın + 5 Erkek, 2'şer Koreli, İspanyol , Sırp ve Gürcistanlı, 1'er Belçikalı, Çek Cumhuriyetli, Bulgar ve Türk) Van Gölü çevresinde yeşil alanların oluşturulmasında çalıştılar

GEN-17 BY THE LAKE TATVAN 21.07-06.08 ENVI-RENO 15 VOLS Tatvan is a lake side town by the biggest lake of Turkey. The municipality is keen of hosting international volunteers in order to broaden the minds of the local youth. The town hosted a work camp last year and want to host 2 more this year. W: The project of the second camp of this year is landscaping by the lake, like last year. A: In a dormitory. Sleeping bag and mat are not necessary. F: Volunteers will prepare the breakfast by the given food. Lunch & dinners will be supplied by the municipality. LA: English. LO: Tatvan is in the east of Turkey, by Van Lake. The nearest cities are Bitlis & Van. Volunteers will travel all over Turkey from west to the east by coach (22 hours) on the second day of the camp. Thus 1 overnight in Istanbul is compulsory with an extra cost of 10 Euro. T: Istanbul.

Hello. I am Nurdan. I was the leader of this camp.

It was awesome experience for me. All participants were from different countries and cultures. This experience is not find any other place.

I was never been in east of Turkey until this camp. this volunteer work not only allowed me to get know different cultures but also the cultures of our different societies in my own country.

We were about 15 volunteers and we made a kids playland, clean the lakeside and landscaping. In addition to improving my English, I also improved my leadership skills.
