SENIOR CAMP

İZMİR, ALİAĞA, YENİŞAKRAN   01 Kasım 2013 - 08 Kasım 2013

Bu kampın bir özelliği, 50 yaş üzerindeki gönüllülerden oluşmasıydı. (Gerçi en gençleri olan kamp liderimiz 48 yaşındaydı.) Bu yaş grubu (senior) için özel bir kamp yaptık. Bu nedenle içinde yer aldığımız ALLIANCE ve SCI ağlarında örnek bir kamp. Bu kampa katılan 6 gönüllü, Afacan Gençlik Evi’nde zeytin topladılar ve tesisin kapanış öncesi çalışmalarına katıldılar. İngiliz gönüllümüz 79 yaşındaki Pat Barker ise yaş rekorumuzu kırdı. Kamp liderliğini Nevin Başaran Alkan üstlendi. (Pat 2014'te de aynı kampa gelerek kendi rekorunu kırdı.)

KAMP TANIMI :

GEN-33 SENIOR CAMP YENI SAKRAN 01.11 – 08.11 AGRI – 8 VOLS

This workcamp is a special one for people over 35 years old. Afacan Youth House www.afacan.de is a place where GENCTUR runs voluntary workcamps for disadvantaged youth and children, disabled people, teenagers and kids. In order to supply annual olive and olive oil stocks, the center will host volunteers to pick up and process olives from a municipal field.

W: Volunteers will collect olives from the trees, separate according to quality, pack, make stripes on olives, etc. There is a chance to see olive oil making process in a factory. As the youth center will be shut after this camp the volunteers will be asked to help to carry goods and some cleaning work as well as part of their daily work.

A: In the youth center, in double rooms with toilet and shower.

F: Will be supplied at the center.

LA: English.

LO: Yenisakran is by the Aegean Sea, in west of Turkey. The next city is Izmir.

T: Izmir.

Volunteers should arrange their arrivals to Izmir Airport. Further and alternative details about arrival will be given on the info sheet.
